Victria´s Secret

Don´t we all carry a burning key? Too hot for others, harmless for the bearer.

Love & Peace

My latest work. I had to get away from the screen and back to scissors and glue. Much constructing and thinking ahead went into this piece. I tried to make it look like you could bend and twine flat paper. In fact the type consists of several stacked layers of orange paper. Turned out quite nice, ey? I have more pics of this in my Flickr gallery.

Heaven´s On the Backside Of My Photographs, Part 2

Yet another example of a backside labeled photo plate from Austria. A wonderful, delicate piece of graphic design. Note the date 1897. More to come.

Curiosity

When I came across this old portrait I noticed this man´s open minded look and kind facial features. A scientist, an explorer? I made him a ethnologist wearing the tribal tatoo of a native culture far away. Check out similar collages in my Flickr gallery.

Magic Trip

Dahab, Egypt, Dec 2009: This is one of many handpainted signs. I like the colorful look and the creative touch to some of the words. This sign is also exeptional in another way: There is no misspelling!

Wanderlust

Another collage I did recently. I wanted to picture wanderlust, the longing for the faraway as a mark you carry around like a skin rash or - more adequate - like skin color. Bourgeois frames and conventional constraints contrast this young man´s state of mind.

Chilly Christmas Punch

Tradition is here to stay. This year´s invitation to my Christmas Chill Out Party - let´s get together.

Heaven´s On The Backside Of My Photographs, Part 1

This is the backside of an old family picture, dating 1913. The pictures of these times were mounted on a cardboard plate, the backside often featuring the photographer´s emblem and service listing. This one is classified as souvenir by an anonymous photographer. A wonderful piece to keep and to remind us of times, when photographs were precious belongings. I have some more - stay tuned.
